Coal deposits in Australia.
In March 2009 the group of our colleagues at the invitation of Australian firm, which bought our previously geo-radars, demonstrated the produced by us more contemporary
equipment and the technologies of data processing - geo-radar GROT-12 to the Swiss company X STRATA - one of the most important mining companies of peace. It is necessary to
note that besides a good relation and hospitality the receiving group produced large impression on us by professional approach to testing of our equipment.
In the month of work the possibility to work out the results of sounding on 17 different objects and to interpret was given to us. In this case there was the possibility of the
comparison of data obtained by us with the results of magnetic aerial photography, seismic survey and boring. This allowed us to collect the significant volume of initial information,
in the addition to the data bank available to us, for finalizing of the system of the automated interpretation of geo-radar data.
Our team visited two largest coal ranges of this company in Australia in the states New Southern Wales and Queensland. The high level of the organization of our work, provided by
the receiving group, allowed us to pass more than 20 km of profiles, overcoming more than 3000 km for this by the earth and air on the territory of Australia.
We worked on different geological objects, such as dikes, breakings, force, diatreme, the old neglected mines, the paleo-river bed of old rivers and so forth. Our colleagues were
interested in, first of all, the possibilities of technology for diagnostics of the rapidly changing along the profile compositions of geological species and, certainly, depth and resolution
of our instruments.
Earlier some companies producing georadars from the different countries visited them.
The results of our expedition are both the purchase of our equipment and the appreciation of the representative of the company of X STRATA, which directly accompanied us in the
trip and on the ranges.

Demonstration of the results of survey on the range with the passages with the two-meter antennas.
Two-kilometer profile with the ten-meter antennas for the definition of the zones of the change of the overlapping rocks of sandstone and basalt and layer depth of coal.
Data of geo-radar sounding were interpreted on the basis of comparison with the data of drilling boring.
Depths from the layers of coal, which it was possible to reach for some ranges - this is 200 and more meters. The channels of old mines were observed on 70 meters.
The effectiveness of the determination of the entrance of basalt was important for the chief geologist of the receiving group; therefore he observed picture on the computer during sounding.
A study dikes with the subsequent solution of three-dimensional inverse problem determined depth dikes and zones of the entrance into the coal beds. Eventual results could be
compared both with the data of magnetic aerial photography and with the results of boring.
For the first time georadar data obtained on such depths were compared with seismic data.
Even for not the specialist it is completely obvious that geo-radar data under the specific hydrogeological conditions are more representative than 80-100 meters seismic to the depth.
Optimum is the use also of electromagnetic and seismic instruments and the joint interpretation of the obtained results. the Express- presentation of the primary results of geo-radar
given for the management companies carried out the colleagues of the company of X Strata.
It is necessary to note that the budgets of both Australia as a whole and its separate states to a considerable degree are formed due to the deductions of the mining companies
working in their territories. In this case, in accordance with the Australian legislation, one of the criteria of effectiveness of the work of companies is putting minimum harm to
environment, especially on the phase of preliminary searches. On this criterion, as in the depth of the sounding reached (more than 200 meters) our technology proved to be out of
the competition. Therefore the receiving company organized the demonstration of our results in the form of presentation about the accomplished work and instrument itself to the
minister of natural resources of state New Southern Wales in Sydney before our flying away into Russia.
This meeting allowed us to understand the tasks, which our colleagues intend to solve in the near future with our participation
