GROT-11

Georadar GROT-11 is the movable geo-introscope of the subsurface sounding with the increased power (patent RU 2244322). It displays mapping of geo-radiolocation profiles on the liquid-crystal indicator in the process of measurement. The operating principle of geo-radar is based on sounding of subsurface medium with electromagnetic pulses with an amplitude of 5-15 KV and duration on the order 24-28 ns (1 NS - one billionth fraction of a second), and the registration of the time delay of the reflected signals from the interfaces of media with different dielectric constants. Georadar is capable to probe soil at the depth of 30-50 m on the heavy soils and to 200 m on the light dry soils.

Georadar ensures the determination of the depth of the bedding of the interfaces and thickness of geological layers, the arrangement of relatively larger underground cavities and heterogeneities.

Georadar can be used, in essence, in geology and building.

OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS

Work with the georadar is produced by two or three operators in the manual or automatic regime, with the adjustable period of starting of the registration process. Three regimes of the registration are provided: the binary form, when only the sign of the signal (reduced information) reflected from the object is memorized into the flash-memory; full-wave linear form and full-wave logarithmic form, when it is memorized sign and signal amplitude on a linear and logarithmic scale correspondingly. Information saved into the flash-memory of the georadar (more than 3000 frames of the size of 128x240) is pumped into the computer; in the last two regimes signal amplitude is coded by color in data processing program. Depending on the complexity of the decided task one or another regime of registration is selected.

Georadar is equipped by changeable resist-loaded dipole antennas with average operating frequency of 20 MHz and 30 MHz. Sizes of antennas 4.0m and 6.0m accordingly.

In the careful relation it is sufficient to have storage accumulator of 12V with a capacity of 12 A/hour for the work of georadar during one day.
