Questions concerning FASM
FASM for high-tension contact surfaces of machine parts, cylinder sleeves, and cylinder blocks of tractor and automobile engines.

Finishing Anti-friction Scratch (score)-preventing Machining (FASM) of internal and external surfaces with the use of special tools containing anti-friction scratch-preventing substances.

The technology can be used for following operations:
honing, super-finishing, external and internal grinding.

Manufacturing technology of anti-friction scratch-preventing tools can also be transferred (offered) for bringing tool production to commercial level.

Main advantages of FASM technology while machining cast iron cylinder sleeves of engines are as follows:
graphite inclusions impressing is excluded;
charging by abrasive particles of the surfaces being machined is excluded;
tension in the surface layer is reduced;
equipment at hand is used;
use of lubricating and cooling liquids is excluded.

Purpose and sphere of application of FASM technology: machining of friction pairs in machine building, automobile and tractor parts, compressors, and other machinery.

Advantages in comparison with competitors: simplicity in application, improvement of engine parameters.

Engine parameters when cylinder sleeves machined according to FASM technology are used:
fuel saving is achieved - 3-5%;
oil saving is 15-20%;
engine service life is increased by 30-50%;
engine run-in cycle is decreased by 20-30%;
amount of harmful substances in exhaust gases is decreased by 15-20%.

In order to check the effectiveness of FASM technology it is suggested to make experimental cylinder sleeves and test engines with experimental sleeves. In case of positive results of the engine tests, bring FASM technology for cylinder sleeves and cylinder blocks to commercial level.
The technology is protected by patents of the Russian Federation # 2041787, 2072298
